Our dear Helena, you will leave such an enormous hole in the hearts of so many and in the operation of many treasured organisations. We miss you enormously, and regret the lost opportunity to keep briefly re-engaging amidst our all-too-busy lives. Our deepest sympathies are with Haz, James, Hugh and their families. Our joy is that you are now in a better place, and reunited with your beloved Michael. Rest well together. With our love, Henny & Neil x

With sincere condolences on Helena's untimely passing, I knew Helena through the Thame and District Twinning Association and, while I did not know her as well as many people in Thame did, I was always impressed by her good nature and sterling qualities, many of which were referred to in today's very fitting and moving service. I last saw Helena in September when she was a very welcome companion on our Eurostar journey for the annual trip to Montesson, and just a few weeks later I was very shocked and saddened to hear of her sudden death. She will be greatly missed by everyone in the Twinning Association, as I am sure she will be by the many people who knew her, and of course by you, her dear family. My sincere sympathy and best wishes, Briony Bradbury

Helena, the Twinning Association is going to miss you enormously. You were a stalwart supporter of all things "Twinning" and could always be counted on to provide an extra bed to host when needed. We very much share the sentiments of the Montesson Committee and the following message received from them shows just how much we all valued you. It is with great sadness that we have learned of the sudden death of our friend Helena. For many years we have appreciated her presence in our Twinning Association; her elegance, her smile, her kindness. Montessonians who had the honor of being a guest at her home; Elisabeth, Michael, Monique, Martine, Jean-Francois (sometimes with their grandchildren), it was a marvelous visit to a magnificent house. The visit to the garden in passing by the chickens was a ritual. We appreciated her simple traditional and excellent cuisine. Our gifts on parting included fresh eggs, rhubarb from the garden and her own marmalade. She shared her visits to Martine and Jean-Francois with German guests and it was necessary to juggle the three languages much to everyone’s amusement. We had the good fortune to have Helena in Montesson this past September. She was content with everything, interested in everything. She had a great cultural curiosity. When we visited the Van Gogh Museum in Auvers she was the last to leave the museum. Helena, we miss you. We will keep you in our prayers forever. We will not forget you. We send our deepest sympathies to your children and grandchildren for who this loss must be very difficult. Helena, thank you for your friendship, your warm hospitality, your smile and your grace. You will rest always in our hearts. Thame and Montesson Twinning Associations
